Orne - Orne & Blizaro - One Step into Oblivion, split album, Svart Records, 2010

Orne is a side project from members of Finland’s Reverend Bizarre (now Lord Vicar), playing Prog Rock in the 1970’s vein. They did a LP on Black Widow records some years ago and now has this split 7” out. While its not exactly ‘doom’, I would say Orne is in the neighborhood and could be thought of as a ‘light’ version of said genre. So, if you’re a fan of stuff like Pink Floyd, (early) Genesis and Wishbone Ash, as well as Reverend Bizarre/Lord Vicar, you will not be disappointed. On the other side is the US band Blizaro, which also is a side project from the fellow doomsters Orodruin. Like Orne, this is Prog-y stuff, but with a much more dark approach and an analog synthesizer-based sound. I really like it and want to hear more from Blizaro soon.
